Aviation LLP Traceability Packet Review

An aviation parts company buying and selling LLPs (Life-Limited Parts) for jet turbines needed a better way to assemble, verify, and review traceability records from part birth to current status.

The Process Problem

The client buys and sells LLPs (Life-Limited Parts) for jet turbines. For these parts to have value, traceability has to be clear from part birth to current status.

That traceability depends on records of the part lifecycle to date. Previously, those records were manually assembled into a packet and emailed to the reviewing party.

The process worked, but it was time consuming. More importantly, pertinent documents could be missed, creating delays and uncertainty for both the seller and the airline or buyer reviewing the part.

What We Built

Plaidypus built a custom application that guided the trace packet assembly and review process.

For sellers, the system helped identify which documents were needed for a part, whether those documents were present, and what was missing when a trace packet was short.

For buyers, the application made the trace path visible. Airlines and other reviewing organizations could follow the part history as they reviewed documents, see whether holes existed, and jump more easily to documents that needed closer attention.

Why It Mattered

The application turned a manually assembled document packet into a guided review workflow.

Sellers gained a clearer path for preparing complete trace documentation. Buyers gained a more useful way to review the lifecycle evidence behind a part and move toward a decision to buy the part or not.
